Greg's Story
Life
After living in and around Modesto most of our life and raising our daughters there, my wife, Gennifer, and I decided a move was needed. We packed our things and moved to sunny Orange County in July '03 and haven't looked back since.
It has turned out to be a wonderful decision with the only regret that we don't get to spend as much time with our extended families as much now. However, the great people and opportunities down here in SoCal are just amazing and we still feel we're on a vacation of sorts.
I recently received a managerial promotion within my IT dept and am still enjoying my career immensely. My law firm is international so I get to travel all over the states including Europe, and I hope to visit our Asian offices soon.
My wife went back to school in 2004 and received her Aesthetician license shortly afterwards. Since then she's broken through into movie make-up artistry and has one movie that has just made it to DVD stores. She has another even bigger movie in the works now, plus on top of everything she just recently purchased her own day spa, Waves Beyond Skin Care, in beautiful downtown San Clemente. She's a kind, wonderful, gorgeous, hard working wife and mother, and I'm a blessed man to have her in my life all these years. We met in April of 1985 and were married in July of 1989 ... very young indeed ... but we've grown closer every...Expand for more
year as we watch our daughters grow into beautiful young ladies. Both will be in high school this upcoming year ... where does time go!?!?!
Our daughters, Jocelyn (14) and Alyssa (17), have always been the pride of our lives. They make us both so happy and have inspired us to continue to grow in life. Gennifer and I both came from semi-large families and had planned to have 4 children of our own but, after Jocelyn was born, we decided two was a perfect number. Still, we knew our small family could do more so we decided to join the state foster care system in 1994 to help those from a disadvantaged background. Specifically our part was to be a temporary home for those in-between permanent placements in the foster care system. This was such an eye-opening experience!! Since that time we've had five children come through our home, the last one being a 17-year old girl during 2006. It's a draining task on the heart to watch these kids struggle, and to be given such a short time with them can make one feel helpless at times but we know that every effort counts. It's also helped our own daughters understand that family is so very important and that they can't afford to squander their time ... life is very precious!!
Life has treated me wonderfully and I will never forget my times in Modesto.
Take care all, and Happy 20th Reunion to the Davis Class of 1987!!!!!!!!!
