I was married and divorced, and then met and married my best friend and wife Vee Phan, and have been married for nearly 10 years. Just after my divorce I was at a low point in my life. I had accomlished many things, yet my life was hollow. It was at this point that a friend, student and fellow fighter shared the gospel with me. At first I was reluctant, however after reading the Bible daily and having many seemingly planned events happen in my life I finally asked he Lord Jesus Christ to take charge of my life. The day I submitted my life, repented and put my faith in Jesus Christ, my Lord an...Expand for more
d Savior, was the greatest event of my life. I now attend Hope Lutheran Church in Mpls, and have a beautiful family. I have a 8 year old daughter, Nina and a 5 year old son, Gunnar. They are truly the things I live for, precious gifts. In fact, they were my primary inspiration to stay alive in my 2 year battle with cancer. The Lord held me up and carried me thru this life changing battle. I am now a 2 x cancer survivor. I was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma (stage IV large B-cell lymphoma) in March of 2002.I underwent 6 months of Chemo and that cancer went into remission. I was then nailed with cancer #2, initially starting between my 5 - 6 cycle of chemo. I ended up at Mayo Hospital and made that my home for nearly 6 months. In December of 2002, after a biopsy of my left sciatic nerve it was found that the B-cell lymphoma had infiltrated the sciatic nerve (this was a painful period of my life). I ended up having a stem cell transplant (using my own stem cells) and am here today - a modern day miracle - being the first known survivor of Neurolymphomatosis (sciatic nerve cancer). The Lord has answered my prayers and I am able to once again play with my kids and see my wife every day. Between 1989 and 2004, I have been to Thailand 5 times, Japan 3 times, Holland and Ireland. In addition, I have traveled to many states of our great country and continue to bring fighters to their competitions. I will be heading to France and Germany in 2007, as well as all ovewr the United Stated of America.
