Greg's Story

Life UPDATE 3/28/2010: Well, still in California¿. We have another 3 ¿ 5 year sentence here as Ellen¿s company just sold and she went with the new company and have that commitment. I am still with Snap-on living on airplanes, putting on 150k miles a year domestically. We had to put Norman to sleep last year and decided to wait 6 to 8 months to look for a new dog. That did not last long as 3 weeks later we had 2 new Cairn Terrier (Terrorist) puppies named Ivan and Fergus. There is never a dull moment with them. We are now Grandparents three times over. Gia has I son¿ Codie and Bryson has one of each¿ Caelen & Mhari. Being a grandparent is better than I ever thought it would be. Unfortunately they are all too far away as our kids are still in the service and moving around. Someday we will be closer. In the mean time we spend our free time driving around So Cal in our convertible¿s ( Smart Car and Corvette) and sailing off Newport Beach in a Hunter 36¿. Look us up if your in the area¿ ¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬------------------------------------------------------ UPDATE 10/20/2006: Well, how things change. After a failed 28yr relationship, I am now re-married to the love of my life, Ellen. We live in So. California ( save me please ) and are ready to leave any time. We live with Ellen's four legged son - "Norman" the Cairn Terrier. I am still with Snap-on Tools as the National Sales Manager - Education Division. Both my kids finished college ( Gia - CSU, Bryson - USAFA ) and are both officers in the Air Force. Gia is in Sumter SC, married and expecting our first grandchild. Bryson is on Tampa FL, married and expecting our second grandchild ( I am not old enough to be a grandparent, but am looking forward to it). -------------------------------------------------------------- I worked with var...Expand for more
ious automotive related companies until 1976 when I married my wife Shirley. In 1977 we opened two retail auto parts stores, which we operated until 1988. After we sold our stores I went to work for Snap-on Tools as a sales manager in their Industrial Division. In 1994 I returned to school in a Snap-on sponsored degree program where I earned my bachelors degree in Business Administration in 1999 from Carthage College in Kenosha WI (boy it was hard to go back to school after 20 years). I was then promoted to Director of Snap-on Industrial IT responsible for everything related to technology, including all of our E-Commerce initiatives, for the Industrial Company. This job requires me to be in Kenosha so I live on airplanes commuting from our home in Arvada. Shirley and I have 2 wonderful kids both who graduated in the top 5% of their classes at AW. Gia (21) after attending Colorado School of Mines for two years going after a Chem. Eng degree decided to change her major going after something she loves. She is now attending CSU pursuing a degree in Sports and Exercise Science, which fits as she is a accomplished competitive figure skater who coaches many young skaters to their dreams. Bryson (19) is an accomplished golfer and hockey player. Bryson was one of the top junior players in the state of Colorado in Golf. That earned him a full ride scholarship to the University of Denver. Two weeks before he was suppose to report to DU he decided to pursue a Division I hockey scholarship instead. He played Jr. Hockey in Billings Mt (kind of a Slapshot or Youngblood type bus league) this winter and has succeeded in getting a Div. I ride. He will attend the US Air Force Academy this fall to play hockey and probably become a jet jockey. As you can see we are proud of our kids. I look forward to seeing you at the reunion.
