Greg's Story
Life
Since '89 I have been in the Air Force moving around the country but I look forward to settling down in the near future. 3 more years and I can retire. 'Bout time for me try something new and much less frustrating. Maybe (God help me!) start a family.
I'm back in Calif now at Beale AFB which is up near Marysville. Hopefully this will be my last move except for my home of selection when I retire.
College
Currently working on my degree in Computer Science through an online University.
Workplace
My current job is in Electronic Intelligence or ELINT for short. Real cool job doing secret squirrel stuff.
My old job was called Traffic Management. Basically making plane reservations and arrangements to move peoples' property when the military wants to move them.
I also did 3 years special duty as a Military Training Manager. We continued the military education of new airmen while in...Expand for more
technical training. Tech training comes after basic training.

Here is a list of my permanent assignments:
Aug-Oct '89 - Lackland AFB, Texas
Oct-Dec '89 - Sheppard AFB, Texas
Dec '89 - Oct '92 - Travis AFB, California
Oct '92 - Sep '94 - Oslo, Norway
Sep '94 - Sep '97 - Sheppard AFB, Texas (Again)
Sep '97 - Aug '00 - Eielson AFB, Alaska
Aug '00 - Aug '01 - Presidio of Monterey, California
Aug '01 - Jun '03 - Mountain Home AFB, Idaho

Nov '05 - Present - Beale AFB, California
I've also had temporary assignments to:
RAF Mildenhall, England
RAF Lakenheath, England
Elmendorf AFB, Alaska
Goodfellow AFB, Texas
Haven't been to the desert or Korea. I'm not crazy enough to volunteer for these. The only way I'll go to one of these is as a non-volunteer. I'm no longer this gung-ho. Maybe in my first decade in the military but not now.
