Stony (Greg)'s Story
Pretty much retired these days and living in the deep East Texas Piney Woods but still do a little consulting for a sign and graphics company in New Hampshire; more for fun than anything else. Spend nearly every day clearing trees and brush along the creeks and fence lines on a ranch to stay active and prefer using hand tools and swinging an ax over a tractor with a backhoe or a using a chainsaw.
I've been a hiker and mountaineer for many years and have summited Mt. Hood and Mt. Rainier. My favorite time of year is winter where I've frequently climbed Mt. Washington in New Hampshire. I prefer the outdoors in any weather; anyday.

d on the Board of Directors. The goal of the club is to climb to the highest point in each state and I've summited 49 of the highest points with an attempt on Denali in Alaska. I've also revisited many of the state highpoints multiple times and serve as state liaison for the club. I also serve as Projects Director for the Highpointers Foundation promoting visiting each of the state highpoints and keeping open public access and working with owners/managers to provide improvements to these areas.
Legally changed my name to Stony Burk years ago since I picked up the 'nickname' during my time in the service and most of my climbing friends and family know me as Stony. It seems to fit with who I am.
