Greg's Story
Life
After College I went to work at a Wilderness camp for troubled boys down in Tennessee. I did that for two years, then I moved back to Michigan and worked at Youth Haven Ranch for a summer as a camp counselor. Next I moved to Marion Indiana where I worked as a housefather at New Horizons Christian Academy for troubled youth. I did that for a year and then particpated in their wilderness program up in Canada for a summer. I lived in a primative cabin and canoed to work each day. Next I came back to Michigan and got a job working in guest services at Michindo Camp and Conference center in Hillsdale. There I met my Wife Page who worked there in housekeeping and was attending Hillsdale college. After she graduated we got married and I took a job as a youth pastor at a Hillsdale church. Page taught adult education and Alternative Education. Two years later and with our first child on the way we took a job working at a Christian Camp. 4 months later and with our new daughter Rylee Ann we moved to Bristol Virginia and took a job as house parents at Youth For Tomorrow. It is a youth home for troubled boys sponsered by Joe Gibbs. A year later we moved back to Lansing, MI and bought a house and Page started teaching math at Eastern High School. I stayed home with our daughter and worked part time in Construction. When our son Colton was...Expand for more
born I stayed home full time. Now Rylee (5) is in pre-school and Colton is 2 1/2. Now, we're in the process of building a house in the Bath area which will hopefully be finished before school starts next year. We have two dogs and a cat. We look forward to our move out in the country away from the city. 4/18/06 We finally finished our house and moved in on 12/24/05. Rylee is in Kindergarten and is quickly learning how to read and write. She loves school. Colton 3 1/2 yrs old is spending a lot of time on the computer at the Nick Jr. Website playing all sorts of games. We recently started attending the Northpointe Community Church in DeWitt. What a great church. We joined a small group and are excited about the friendships were making there. This summer we have a lot of work ahead of us. Staining our front aned back decks, cleaning the yard and landscaping, fencing in a place for our tplwo smaller size horses, finishing the kids play area etc. We love to have people over for cookouts. ********1/23/08******* My Daughter Rylee will be 8 in March. She is doing very well in sports (soccer, softball, and is currently playing basketball for the first time.) She is a lot of fun to watch. My son Colton is right now playing lego starwars on the Wii and does amazingly well at it. He is ony 5. Life is going well. Talk to you again soon.
