Dear ,
For more than nine years I have endured a variety of chronic, poorly diagnosed or undiagnosed medical problems. Following is brief history of what I have endured. I need help.
I served in the U.S. Air Force, during which time I injured my knee and received an honorable discharge for medical reasons in 1988. I am a disabled veteran.
After the Air Force, in 2003, I began to feel ill with a variety of symptoms (hot flashes, cold sweats, vomiting, nausea, diarrhea, bloody stool, dizziness, dry mouth, migraine headaches and insomnia). After many tests and medical procedures, I was diagnosed with Irritable Bowel Syndrome. Since no specific problem was found this was an âexclusionaryâ diagnosis. I may also have Diverticulitis. Sometimes Iâm bedridden two to four days an...Expand for more
d unable to hold food down. This makes it very difficult to hold a job. I am not able to string together more than four to seven days in a row of work without ending up ill at home, in the emergency room or the hospital.
I also have major, long-term problems with disks in my lower back. Five years ago I had a heart attack and triple bypass. So far everything regarding my heart is ok. Iâve had my gall bladder removed in an attempt to relieve my intestinal problems. This didnât result in any major improvement of my symptoms.
I am earnestly and continuously seeking a job and have sent out several hundred applications and resumes. I have had some temporary, part-time jobs over the last nine years but have not been able to hold any of these jobs for an extended period due to my medical problems. But, I now have my own radio show on WGTR, Wgtrmedia.com.
The VA has been providing medical help to me and they are trying to do, most likely, everything they can. But they canât diagnose me. I would really like to end this monotony of misery, wonder and repetition so I can return to a better quality of life.
I have applied to the Social Security Administration for disability support and have been denied. My re-applications and appeals have also been denied.
In 2003 I was working 30 hours per week as a DJ and earning $13.75 per hour, plus tips. I also was working two to three side jobs each week. Now I receive a dismal $376 as an Air Force disability payment each month (less the money taken out by the VA for pharmacy costs). My girlfriend, parents, family and friends help me get by, but I would, once again, like to NOT be dependent on anyone. Iâm just asking for help so I can swim, not sink.
Thank you for your time. I eagerly await your response and any assistance you may afford me.
