Gregory's Story
Like everyone else, I thought I knew what I wanted to do after high school. Turns out, I didn't have a clue. Did the normal "get married, Start a family" thing. Finally found a career I could enjoy. Started out in Florida building and test driving boats for several companies to include Wellcraft, Chris Craft, and Donzi. Not much enjoyment or future there. Joined Bradenton Fire Department in 1990. Worked my way up to Lieutenant. Right after the 20th reunion in 2000, my uncle died of a massive heart attack, and my life spiraled down. Got a DUI and had to resign. I've managed to work my way back into the fire service. I'm now a Fire Lieutenant and Paramedic working in Polk County, Florida, and working on my Bachelor's in Public Safety.
My personal life is almost as crazy. I got married in 1983, my daughter was born ...Expand for more
in 1985, my son in 1988, and I got divorced in 1993. Then in 1995 remarried again only to divorce 10 months later. Thank God no kids. My kids are now grown, and my daughter gave me a grand daughter in 2004. In 2006, I met my new wife and fell in love right away. We dated just over a year, and got married October of 2007. She had two daughters with three grandchildren.
Since I've been living in Florida, I haven't kept in contact with many people from school. If I was in town, I'd look someone up. I haven't been back to Michigan since 2000. I miss the seasonal changes, but I don't tolerate the cold weather like I used to. I visit Tennessee from time to time. I love Deal's Gap and riding the Dragon. That road makes the nasty curve on Willow Hwy look like a simple lane change! 317 turns in 11 miles! Sportbike Heaven!
