Gregory's Story
Life after high school was one traumatic experience after another which left me with an understanding of what the world is really like. I had to grow up in a hurry when I left home at 17 years of age.
Because my life in high school consisted of band, golf team, and my job at 29th Street Market, owned by Don Peglow, I really didn't have time to think about much else.
I existed for what I did on a daily basis.
I started drinking at age 15 (thanks, Eddie). From that day forward I had to try real hard to keep my secrets from those who were not involved in what I was doing.
Through it all, I managed three...Expand for more
marriages, ten years of college, three degrees, roughly thirty years of teaching, three beautiful children ( I lost my son last year),and a greater appreciation for life.
I have been sober for nearly thirteen years, and life means more to me now than it ever has. My son left me a beautiful granddaughter who just turned two.
Maybe my life has left an impression on someone who has learned through my mistakes and counseling. After being a mentor for thousands of students, I must have left some imprint somewhere. I think.
