Gregory's Story

Life in 2004 Having just turned 45, I'm very happy with my life. I met my first vivacious, yet moody wife while in college at Madison. We moved to an island off the coast of Maine where I still do biomedical research. I wanted kids but she didn't want to grow up, so we split on good terms. I met my current wife of 12 years at work. She's everything my first wife wasn't, so this time it's "till death do us part". Having 2 boys (3 and 5 years old) is the most gratifying, and sometimes exasperating part of my life. My wife will stay home with the kids till they attend school, then plans to teach. Money is tight (researchers d...Expand for more
on't get big salaries!), but having a stay at home mom is great for the boys. The enjoyment of hiking trails and mountains, and canoeing the lakes of the island will most likely keep us here, as much as I miss family and friends back in the Delavan area. Traveling home each summer helps fill this void. The challenge of research intrigues me, but it means there can be long stretches when failure is my only product. Having a fun group at work makes all the difference, but regular turnover means loosing close friends goes with the job. Our next big thing at home is a new garage. I hope my dad can come out to help us build it!
