Greta's Story
Life
I have a husband and four grown kids: Darrel (28) who lives in Cali., Phylicia 26, who is married and lives in Hawaii with her husband, Matt, and our first grandchild, Mariah, who will be 1 in April; Antonio 24, who lives and works in NC and Brittany 22, who lives and works in NC near us. We enjoy the warmer weather in NC and the slower pace of life. Our greatest joy is our granddaughter, Mariah. Now I know why grandparents make such a big deal over their grandchildren. We travel quite a bit to Hawaii to see her and our family members who live there. I love traveling and getting together with my children on the holidays since we are spread out all over.
College
College was a "trip". I went to BG right after high school and a lot of people from Kennedy were there too! (Cheron Glaze, Deborah Jones, Rhonda Moore, Gary Swift, Kevin Payne....and others), I graduated with a degree in Education in 1979, I late...Expand for more
r went to CSU and got a masters after I had been married twice and was on my third kid. A few years ago (2002) I moved down to southern OH and started working at OU. I got my PhD in Education since I was at OU and it was pretty much paid for-- so yes, I am Dr. Oliver. My husband was a professor at OU and my oldest son was a freshman when I first moved down here. I'm proud to say that three out of my four children graduated from OU. So our family holds 5 degrees from there. My husband, Terence, is now is a professor at UNC so that explains the move from Ohio to North Carolina.
Workplace
My (most recent) past experience has been as a adjunct educator and college administrator at OU and for a time i was working at UNC here in NC! I am I currently looking for a permanent job here where I can make a difference and help others. In the meantime I'm enjoying my time at home and serving at church in volunteer roles.
