Gretchen's Story

As a person who tried to be helpful and want to always be there when they should need someone. I tried to and continue to try to be openly honest, if I have to tell a white lie, I simply say..." I don't think I want to go there", and let them think what they may. I really am a people person and became much more outgoing after I married my first husband Don he was so shy that one of us had to be more outgoing so I decided it would be me and that really was the beginning of better things for me, but no so for our marriage, it took a toll because Don refused to grow out of his shyness and I had no choice, but we managed to stay together 29.5 years. Is to listen to soft music and pray. I always wanted to be a Stewardess when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a bad idea. As it turns out, they were right. My hero, was my Step-Father Norman he turned out to be the best Dad! ever, he was nominated for Senior Citizen of the Year 1995 for his 30 years of teaching literacy in City of commerce, California. We both went to college together in different areas, but similiar courses, he was 68 and I was 36 we both took English 101 and passed the test, and only had to take 1 course, of English! We both took management and passed the management tests, we really enjoyed school and I will never forget Norman's love & caring for me his Step-daughter. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is My loving Grandmother, because I never got to see her before she died.. I have had as many as 5 cats, but now only thr...Expand for more
ee.. Snowy,Peanutt,KaliGirl. If I could improve my home, I'd remodel the front room and add on a bigger patio. My dream home would be A 1700 sq., ft. Townhome.. My first husband Don & I tried, but no kids. If I won $100 million, I'd give half of it to the government, then spend the rest on Club Jam, Animals and Feeding the poor.. My current age is 65.5. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be dead. I was so completely surprised. Went to college, got my AA & Management Cert., became employed that same year at the college and worked there till I retired in the middle of 1995. My best friend would tell you I'm very caring, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as passive agressive personality.. I dress very casually .. except when I go out, I do dress appropriately. I share my home with Kali Girl, Peanutt and Snowy , which I find interesting.. I have several awards from the Optimist Clubs of America for my service to their efforts world wide. In 10 years, I hope to be still alive. I'm going to get there by taking better care of me!. Because Nancy Johnson was part of a small but special group of youngsters I grew up with from Elementary School. My first job was at Joel's Bowling Apparel, where I got paid to Model Bowling Clothes to take care of some office duties. What I remember most about it is I really modeled clothes well.. The day my homeroom teacher, called me aside took me to the office where, my Mother was there and told me my father had just died. I was in the 7th grade.
