I thought I already did this!!! Guess me brain is slowly failing! That's what happens when you become an honorary Medicare card holder.
WHO WAS I:
Just another BHS 1963 grad student. Ran around with Dona McDonald, Sharon Garlow, Karen Hamilton, JoEllen Lake. My father was the town Pedodontist (children's dentist) out in Hillcrest (East Bakersfield).
WHERE HAVE I BEEN:
I lived in Southern CA (Inland Empire) for 39 years with my husband (Roman) of now 52 years. We now live in Mesa, AZ. We had 3 children (Anna Marie 1966, David 1968 and Adam 1970). The family has now grown to 7 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. All grandchildren are the loves of my life, OR my reward for not killing my own children.
I became a Real Estate Appraiser, then went on to get my Certified General Appraiser license (which means I can appraise ANYTHING on plantet earth --- Mostly commercial properties). Have been self employed for 30+ years. Prior to that I designed computer programs for the Mortgage Industry, flew all over the country bringing up computer systems, training the end user's and writing user manuals. Over 30 years in the Real Estate Industry is toooooooooo long.

In 2004 I retired and we moved to Mesa, AZ. Why? Housing prices were too high in CA! We bought a 40' motorhome intending to see the USA 4-6 months out of the year, getting out of Dodge during the heat of the summer! But we all know what happend to the economy during this current recession, right? So, let me explain retirement.
RETIREMENT:
I am now teaching appraising, the mathematics of appraising and the mathematics of finance on an independent contractor basis. I am also in throws of writing my first on-line continuing education class (almost done) and have been asked to write a total of 7 of them --- not an easy task!
My husband and I just finished setting up a Self-Directed IRA and have just bought our first rental house, and looking at purchasing 1 or 2 more. Lord, I never dreamed I would become a Landlord! In my spare time, I tutor students in Math to pass the state exam and I do some appraisal input for some of the remaining busy appraisers. That way I don't have the liability because my name is not on the appraisal report. I have also been asked to "mentor" an appraiser through his Certified General licensing process, which will begin soon. OTHER THAN THAT, I AM SUPPOSED TO BE RETIRED!
