Here I go... "open book": Born/raised South Side, 2301 W. 111th St. Swank Roller Rink was my side yard. Clissold Grammar School was where I made my first group of friends: Gus Kumis, Doug Johnston, Gordon Seelos, Don Eppley, Graig Grover, Kenny Jorgenson, Charlie Reed, and so many others. An ill-advised family move to Portland, Oregon took me away for a few years, but we re-located back to the same great neighborhood that I still,and will forever,consider home. Every time I visit the South Side, I drive by 10855 S Hoyne AV and reminisce: Crescent Park (Olson, Kirk, McCoy, Snapp, Klenk, VonDrasek, Joy [basement get-togethers after school!], "spin-the-bottle" on the ice rink, carving names on park benches, athletic endeavors on make-shift fields, and so many more wonderful memories! High School? Times of uncertainty. Trying hard to be accepted. I'd like to think that my best friend and I helped each other through... "Thanks, Ron!"
