HELLO! Actually, I did not graduate. I started El Monte High in 10th grade. I didn't know that I could have stayed back to graduate with the class of 1988. No one informed me that if I stayed on track and got all my credits, I would have been allowed to stay and graduate. Oh well, I moved on. I got my GED. After high school I worked a couple of fun jobs. I was a recreation leader for the city of Pico Rivera, then worked for two major department stores in the loss prevention department. Ten years after high school I returned to school, I went to Mt. SAC for the Alcohol and drug counselor certificate, I continued on and got my bachelors in human services and finally my masters in counseling (emphasis in marriage and family therapy). Not bad for someone who had to figure things out on her own. I was a quiet, shy kid in high school. I kind of stayed under the radar. I didn't really hang out at the school for any events, didn't participate in any activities, belonged to any clubs, or played sports. Not because I didn't want to, I just didn't have the option.
