Gary 's Story
Life
After my parents were transferred to Edmonton in the middle of my grade 12 year, I finished my high school there. I played baseball in the Alberta Junior leaguefor 3 years and went to a scouting camp in Spokane, Wash. I was told they would call me and not me to call them. 20 + years later, I'm still waiting for the call. I worked in a couple sports stores and and nightclubs in Edmonton before I took Casino training in 1983. I've been doing it ever since. After working in Edmonton for 4 years, I broke up with a girlfreind after a 3 year realtionship, and it just so happened I had an offer to work in the Atlantis/Paradise Island casino in Nassau, Bahamas. I did that for 11 1/2...Expand for more
years until a Government decision to reduce the number of ex-pats (foreigners). I later went on to Manage a small Casino in the Turks & Caicos for a year before returning to Edmonton to work and instruct dice classes in local Casino's. I am currently a Supervisor in the Casino's aboard the Royal Caribbean/Celebrity Cruises ships. Ending my first year and 2nd contract, I have been all over the Caribbean, Panama Canal, Hawaii and currently doing the Vancouver-Alaska run. In October I will spend 3 weeks of my vacation at the Rugby.World Cup in Australia.
