Life
I can't believe so many of you guys are even alive - let alone on this site! Well...whassup with the Guy from Caldwell? He went to Virginia for an undergraduate degree in Biology where, after 2 years of too much partying and losing a scholarship I found that I loved research science and suddenly graduated with honors. I followed a girlfriend to the Univ. of Tennessee, where we promptly broke up BUT I got a Ph.D. in molecular biology and met my lovely wife of 10 years now, Kim (also a Ph.D. geneticist). After returning to the NYC area in 1995 and living in Manhattan, where I was a scientist at Columbia for 4 years, I am now a Professor at the main campus of The University of Alabama - ROLL TIDE! I teach an advanced genetic engineering course and have a staff of several grad students and undergraduates in a research lab that Kim and I share. We have about a million dollars in grant money to study genes that cause childhood birth defects of the brain.
