Life
Hello! I live in Tucson, Arizona with my wife, Mary. I graduated from the University of Arizona with a degree in astronomy and work currently at the Lunar and Planetary Lab. Search for my homepage guymcarthur dot com and get in touch!
College
While in college, I was an active member of the University of Arizona chapter of Students for the Exploration and Development of Space (SEDS), including club president for two years. Our web site was one of the most popular on the early Web and was featured in Wired Magazine. I was also a member of the Astronomy Club and Students for Hemp. In addition, I completed the 111-mile El Tour de Tucson bike race, and went on a number of hiking, camping, and mountain biking trips throughout Arizona and New Mexico. Workplace
In the mid-90's, I was lucky to work on leading-edge web technologies, and helped establish what was one of the most popular dot org sites. Since then, I've continued to work in IT for various companies here in Tucson. In 2001 I returned to the UofA to join a team of programmers assisting in the exploration of Mars using an instrument aboard the Odyssey spacecraft. My work has been to create data products and deliver them to the scientific community, including those that have shown mass quantities of H2O on the red planet! In 2005 I transferred to the HiRISE (High Resolution Imaging Science Experiment) group, our telescope will orbit Mars and be the next big thing in space imagery.
