Gwen's Story
Life
After high school I worked for BlueCross Blue Shield for a short while until I started working for the State of Maryland on Eutaw St as a secretary. I got married on April 29, 1967 to Walton (Walt)Westerfield. I met him thru my friend Annamarie Kahl that I knew at our church organization. We are still married (37 years)and have 2 children. Our first boy Kenny was born in 1968 and our daughter Janet in 1971. We have 2 grandchildren (2 boys 9 & 11). Our son is a bricklayer and our daughter works for Mars Supermarket and the Maryland House. We lived in Fountain Green here in MD (0ur first home in 1972)then moved to Fork, MD in 1978 where we still reside. I started back to work when the children were in school and have been in banking since 1980. I currently work for Chesapeake Bank of Maryland in Parkville as an assistant branch manager. My husband retired from the Navy in 1996 and is retiring Jan 1, 2005 from his current job in printing. We lived a little while in Hawaii (1993)The rest of my life has been...Expand for more
here in Fork, MD. We like to travel to Las Vegas each spring and fall we our friends and my sister as we have several timeshares. We have 2 on Brigantine Beach, NJ and one in Las Vegas at the Fairfield which is just beautiful. Last year we went to Lake Tahoe. Next spring we are going back to Hawaii and then to Las Vegas for a week. I'll probably retire in 4 1/2 yrs and we plan to travel more and to take another cruise. We talked about moving to Las Vegas, but that's probably not going to happen because I'd miss my family too much. Although we will be able to travel to the nicer climates more often after we both retire. My husband belongs to the American Flyer's train club which keeps him busy. My hobbies are bargin shopping (I love to go to Reading,PA and lancaster,PA), bingo, computer games, cards and games, Delaware Park with my Mom, Atlantic City trips with Family or friends, movies, plays and going out to eat. My favorite restaurant is Olive Tree in Aberdeen, MD. They have the best Lump Meat Crab Cakes.
