Gwen's Story

March 8, 2012 Gwen Faulkner Reston - Laise Hello every one!!!! Hard to believe that 50 years have slipped from our lives! I Have made two reunions but I will be unable to make this one. I wish I could. I really want a Panarama....Mel and I worked so hard on the original!!! The picture I have in the corner was taken last year on Mother's Day. I was with Katherine, my oldest, on a modeling shoot. Kathy is now forty and still lovely inside out. She and husband , Tucker, have three of my grandbabies. Heidi, my second child and her husband, Tim, also have given me three grandchilderen....Graham, 18, GRIFFEN 14, JAKE 13, HANNAH 12, And Elliot,11. Jennifer,my youngest, works with challenged adults. She loves her job,yet it is not easy. It takes a special person to care and teach these special people. I am so very proud of her. Jennifer knows, she will never get rich, yet her devotion to her clients and their devotion to her, is all the gold she needs. FROM: BALL STATE TO EASTERN AIRLINES, TO FULL TIME POLITICAL WIFE, ' TO ASSISTANT DIRECTOR FOR DR. ON BOARD OF THE NOBEL PRIZE COMMITTEE ,TO INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL DIRECTOR, THEN BACK TO MY FIRST LOVE, INTERIOR DECORATOR AND DESIGNER.......JUST RETIRED. AND LOVE IT!!! While all my children and grandchildren live here in Connecticut....John and I will be leaving here after many years to retire on Hilton Head. John is an avid golfer and a recent retiree skier.......Expand for more
..the latter, he is still trying to get over. Natch, Hilton Head has more golf courses than Hines has Pickles. jOHN, retired at 55 as a CEO of Reader's Dijest to (what else),ski and golf. He is one happy camper. I will be busy with "summer stock" and will choose to do designing if I cannot stand not designiing. hahahah I adore being retired and I will not lack for things to do. I am sure we will be back and forth to Conn. as I am not giving up my hugs for my grandchildren. . I, as all, have had trails and tribulations and survivedll all. ....my life now is all and everything I could have dreamed, of course, it took me three times for my Prince Charming to fine me....:) :) It was worth, every journey, that I steped and stumbled through. I am glad I was raised with all of you, as I have never left my mid-western roots. You made me appreciate every where i've gone and every one, I have met during my travels. Growing beyond one's own expectation's surely is one of the greatest gifts, having good health to enjoy that growth, sharing laughter, tears, and finding love that is unconditional, rocks my world. I would love to hear from all of you. Have made new friends all over again with Jan and Jerry. Heard from Ron Tussey and wife Lisa, talked with Sheila Hartup (Yeck) Hi Ronald Taulbee and Tom.....hope you all receive this...and thank you for thinking enough of me to write. Fondly Gwen Faulkner Reston-Laise
