Harley's Story
Life
I am married, with two kids; my daughter was born in 2002, and my son was born in early 2005. I am in the Air Force, and I am stationed at Ramstein AB in Germany as a Military Police officer (Security Forces).
I am getting out of the AF at the end of 2006, and we are settling down in NH, and hope to buy a house soon after.
I am almost complete with my BS in Criminal Justice Administration, and want to become a civilian cop when I get out. I might even try law school after a few years as a cop, but who knows for sure.
I would love to get in touch with some old friends from school!
School
Currently pursuing a BA degree through Park University in Criminal Justice Admin/Social Psychology
Military
After HS, I went to Valley Forge Military College in an attempt to get into the Air Force Academy. Due to a lacklaster performance in Calculus, I did not get into the Academy. So, I spent the summer after in NH, where I started dating this wonderful woman who would eventually become my wife. Linguist, but the AF couldn't guarantee me a specific language, so I decided to join as Security Forces (basically, the cops and security guards for the Air Force.
After Basic training and Tech school, I got stationed at F.E. Warren AFB in Cheyenne, WY. I spent 3 years there, guarding Nuclear Missiles and trying to keep from getting buried in the snow. From there, I went to Ramstein AB in Germany, where I spent 2 years protecting the 4-Star General in charge of all US Air Forces in Europe (NOT a fun assignment). I am still stationed at Ramstein, but I am now an evaluator for all Security Forces personnel on Ramstein.
My time in the Air Force has had me deployed to the United Arab Emirates in 2001, and as I type this update, I am currently deoplyed to Iraq for another 5 months. Here, I do everything from sitting in a control center, to running patrols along the perimeter of a base.
I have enjoyed my time in the Air Force, but I am equally looking forward to getting out and moving to my home state of New Hampshire. There, I hope to use my military experience and newly acquired Bachelor's degree to become a civilian police officer.
