Harold's Story
Life
Married for 23 years; My Wife's name is Nasrin
We have two children:
Christopher Louis - 20 years old - loves karate, basketball, lacrosse & computers and studying Engineering up at U Maine
Juliana Tahrae - 18 years old - loves art, music, lacrosse & field hockey and is studying Graphic Arts at Cape Fear College
I enjoy music, karate, skiing, golf, scuba diving, photography and horses.
In 2013 I decided to start running competitively and started doing 5K races here in town.
In 2014 I also added to the 12+ mile Tough Mudder races to the list - I have completed 9 so far between Mount Snow Vt & Raceway Park NJ. In addition to the normal Tough Mudders - a couple of my teammates and I did the Toughest Mudder last year - that is a race that starts at midnight and you run for 8 hours on a 5 mile course and still having to do the 20+ obstacles around the course. I completed 18.5 miles in around 6.5 miles, beat 40% of the filed and was the oldest guy in the race by 3 years!
A couple of weeks ago we went even bigger - the same teammates and I did the Spartan Beast in NJ. Its a 14.5 mile race with 30 ridiculous obstacles - and this took place in a ski resort - so the whole race was 'running' up and down the mountains and between them from mountain to mountain. We started at noon and it took us 8.5 hours to complete the course!! It was one of the difficult physical things I have ever done in my life!! But what a thrill to cross the finish line to collect that medal!! On to the next challenge!!!
In July of 2021 we moved from Orange CT to Wilmington NC....and are in the process of building a new house!
