Harold's Story
Once I earned enough credits to qualify for the GED, I left Shores and joined the Navy. I saw most of Europe ant the Baltic Sea countries. I spent my 21st birthday in Monte Carlo in a hotel overlooking the bay. Spent 3 yrs active and 5 yrs reserves.
After the Navy I was tricked into a marriage by a pregnant girlfriend despite the pill. Worked as an electronic test tech at Hughes Aircraft.
From there i went into computers. The data comm market was booming and PCs were just coming out, remember that? I then became project manager for a computer engineering co. After 6 years I was laid off.
So, I became a postal worker carrying mail in San Bernardino. That only lasted 3 yrs. Worse job I ever had. I know why they go postal now and kill there own.
I got a divorce and drifted for a few year...Expand for more
s, worked as a mechanic at a plastics mfg co., a vending machine mechanic electrician repairing mining cars in West Virginia and even drove a cab for a year.
I ended up in the mountains and worked as maintenance supervisor at a property management co. The boss had his fingers in the till and was comingleing funds. He was arrested and I lost my job.
I decided to start my own co and do what I wanted. I am Accurate Repair co. I do heating, air, refrigeration and appliance and machine repair. I can fix most anything.
My son John lives in my town. He just turned 27 last week. My daughter Rebecca is 31 and lives in Long Beach.
I live on a 5 acre ranch and have 4 horses, 5 dogs, 6 cats, 5 chickens, 25 white pigeons4 birds and several fish.
I like what I do and where I live. Life's good.
