Harold's Story
WOW! I got my yearbook back!!!!!! Thanks to TUHS student Chuck Simpson I just got my senior yearbook in the mail from Florida. Chuck had bought it on EBay and was kind enough to contact me about returning it. I thought I had thrown it out in a box of old books years ago. Apparently my evil ex-wife (LOL) had it and sold it on EBay. Thank goodness she's a mercenary and decided to sell it for money and not set it on fire for spite (LOL). She could have just handed it to my son and told him to give it to his dad: but, NO! ---- she had to be true to the behavioral characteristics of an ex-wife and make money off of it!!!!!!! (LOL) Evil is as evil does. Now who said that? Was it Forest Gump that said that?????????? Truly a prayer answered. God bless you Chuck.
Hi All,
I went to COS for a semester and then into the Navy. I went into the submarine service as a reactor technician and electrician. After chasing Russian subs for 8 years in the Mediterranean I got out and worked at Holly Sugar Co. for a year and then went to work for the Lawrence Livermore National Lab. for almost 30 years. I had a great career there working variously as Radiation/Safety Tech., Mechanical Tech. doing nuclear assemblies on prototype Nuke weapons in the Plutonium Facility, as a Chem. Tech. doing Metallography in the same facility and finished my career doing electrical repairs all over the laboratory on all kinds of machine tools. I love camping and tr...Expand for more
aveling. I'm involved in Civil War discussion groups, community theater, historical groups, and G-scale model train groups up here near Sacramento. My wife and I are avid handgun shooters and go to Frontsight Firearms Institute in Nevadafor training once or twice a year. I'm an avid supporter of the Second Amendment, concealed carry laws, the Constitution and the right to free speech.
If it sounds like my life has always been rosey (LOL), it hasn't. I married my high school sweetheart, Linda Harris, and had two children. We divorced after 12 years. I've been married a total of 4 times! I can catch them, but can't keep them (LOL)! I always end up making them so mad they stomp their feet like Rumple Stiltskien and then they spit fire and hate me. I'm sometimes a little stubborn and hard headed--- It must be the Redskin in me (LOL). I truly have had a wonderful life working in the technical aspects of the science I love. I'm very grateful for having the friends in high school that I had like Margie Moore, Bill Preston, Eleanor Roosevelt, Dave Webster, Dave Reisig, Mike Price, Becky McKee, Lynn Boone, Kathy Stubbs Joann Sink, Jim Miller, Bill Saunders and many, many more; and, of course, all the kids in the Junior and Senior Class plays, and of all the great guys I played football with. Most of the kids I went to high school with I also attended grammer school with. It's great to know people that many years.-- Hal (Harold)
