Harry's Story

My 53rd birthday a couple of days ago. Next May I will have been married 33 years to Colleen, the most wonderful woman. I am eternally happy to be with her. My daughter Trina, is married to John and they have been living their life in Seattle. She graduated from U of I with a degree in Technical Lighting, currently working at a children's theater in Seattle. She has done some incredible work in all aspects of putting on a production and she loves the work. They are now the proud parents of two sons, Henry and Theodore. My son has a degree in film study from Columbia College and is working in the film industry . He is a writer, songwriter, musician, accomplishing a lot of what I only dreamed of doing. e very proud of both of them. My wife and I live in the Chicago area. I am a customer service manager of a B2B distributor for the HVAC industry. I have been there 20 years and it has gone by fast. Busy company and I'm a busy guy. We have lived in the same town for 30 years. It was good for the kids to grow up in one place. Although, I have never gotten used to the winters and have always considered myself from Eastern Kentucky, I have spent most of my life in Illinois and probably always will. Both our fathers are still in the Chicago area. Both our mothers have passed on. My picture has the newest addition to the Bates' clan, Theodore. He came to spend some time in Illinois and we took this picture. He's the cute one. I like my music, movies and baseball. I'm a lucky guy.
