Harvey's Story
After I left Blanco, we moved to Lockhart and then something crazy happen so we got sent to the Baptist Receiving Home and then moved to Leander in August of 1976 and graduated from Leander Schools. Joined the military and stayed over 30 yrs that included my delayed entry program and retired from the state of Hawaii and decided to come back to Texas with my family because it was too damn expensive in Hawaii. I have enjoyed being back in Texas especially the blue bonnets which I truely have missed. I miss the ocean breeze of Hawaii but don't miss the price of living there. I have 5 beautiful kids 3 boys and two girls and they are a handful as those of you with kids know. I did go back to school and finally retired from the VA system on March 31, 2016 and I am enjoying every day of it but my golf and many other things keep me in shape and very busy. I'm a pretty private person but have a few close friends who come around but it would be nice to have a few more to play golf with it, or have lunch with. I can't stand those who are unethical, unfair, or thieves and those who have found a job and are too damn lazy to get off their tails to work. Those who have seniority a...Expand for more
nd think they can just sit and collect a paycheck while others do their job. And those who are so wrapped up in themselves that they don't have time to do service for others. I feel for the school teachers of today because students are lazy, unappreciated and too immature. But more irritating are those parents who expect the teachers to raise their children at school because they are too damn lazy to do it themselves. The work ethic of the generation of today just stinks to no end and those days of hard work for your money are long gone. And for those who groan and moan of what I have said, then put on a fighting pack, stand watch in Iraq/Afghanistan and then come and moan about the freedom you so much enjoy off the backs of us who sacrificed so much. Because I really don't give a crap what you think unless you been in country. God Bless all those who served, those who are serving and those who will choose to serve. And of course I think all politicians are full of crap and are just a bunch of liars, regardless of what political party they are from. Remember people want you o be honest, they just don't want you to be honest with them! Or then you become an as----e
