Heather's Story
School
My very first crush was in sixth grade at Westlake Elementary School...Ramsey. I wrote about him in my journal almost every night for a month! I still have it today somewhere in a box, God knows where, collecting dust!
In highschool, it was Mike Libberthal. He sat next to me in math class, and I don't think he knew I existied (I was so shy.) This was WAY before I knew he was going to be a pro-baseball player! My seven year old stepson even has his baseball card. It's kinda weird how things turn out! What we thought love was then...
If I could do it again, I would have been more outgoing, the way I am today, and not have been so shy! I think many people thought I was stuck-up, but it was the complete opposite. I have taken a 180 degree turn in my personality in that aspect, and it's so much more peaceful.
College
I went to Sacramento State, UC Davis, and Azusa Pacific for my Master's Degree in Education. I'd rather not remeber the "unique" roommate, or t...Expand for more
he cafeteria cuisine...etc. But overall it was so much fun meeting so many different people from all over. I was very sheltered in Westlake Village.
Oh, and I worked part time at Hot Dog on a Stick during my second year of college. Yes, wore the hat and got quite good at pulverizing lemons. I quit when a homeless man felt sorry for me selling lemonaide alone in fourty degree temperatures in an outdoor mall. Unfortunately, I couldn't keep the uniform. It would be a great Halloween costume!
Workplace
I taught a year in Northern California, then got a job back where I began! CVUSD...I taught for a total of eight years-second and third grade. Never would trade it for the world! I took a year off to move, (three times!), plan a wedding, and start a family...it was quite a stressful year, but in a good way. Now I have my own small business and will return to teaching after a two year break. I will be teaching second grade... so excited to start up again. I've missed it.
