Heather's Story

It's true life doesn't always turn out the way you plan. Not that I ever really had a plan. I felt that I was raised to be a wife and mother, and that's the path I took. Who knew what forks in the road lay ahead? I was married by age 19 and had 2 kids by age 22. My husband (some of you knew him) was in the Air Force, so I got to live in some truly fascinating places (okay, not so much) like Montana, Illinois, and Florida. Divorced at age 24, I hit the job market. I went to work for a paging company in Los Angeles (remember beepers, when cell phones were for rich businessmen and weighed 2 lbs?). There I met my 2nd husband (some people never learn) and gave birth to my 3rd son. He's 10 now! In 1998, I moved to Colorado Springs, CO. LA sucks, and I can't afford my ...Expand for more
hometown of San Diego (though, I've often considered a move back to the pacific northwest). Colorado is awesome! At least, the weather is different every day. :-) I work for a Pharmacy Benefit Management company, as a manager of workforce management, and recently spoke at a conference for workforce planning professionals in Nashville. Yay! I spend a lot of time working, but my off time is spent going to baseball practice & Little League games with my son, seeing movies, hanging out with friends, watching the Rockies play, keeping up with the tv show LOST, and recently (finally) working out. I still think about writing a fantasy novel, but for now I just read them. All in all, no complaints. Send me an email to say Hi if the mood strikes. I'd love to hear from you.
