Heather's Story
School
Wow!! What a great time in my life. Even through all of the heartaches, losses, and what nots...I'd do it all again. There's not much I would change either. I miss so many things and people from high school and wish things could be different now, but life takes a different direction for everyone. Take it for what it's worth. I miss Jamie L., Lacy, Christie, Jamie C., Justin, Charity, and so many others. Would love to hear from any and all of you!!
College
My first roommate in a co-ed dorm at Blinn in Bryan was Chrissy Lett. We had so much fun, whether it was late nights at the P-TAR or beach volleyball games or hiding in someone else's room when we had unwanted guests. Sleeping late, skipping class, and still passing....well, at least one of us did.
X-Ray school was another story. You miss, you fail was pretty much the idea. It was fun, but it was a hell of a two years. Bowling to relieve stress or partying at Mel's house...all was time well spent. Definitely wouldn't change a thing about it. Miss those days.
Workplace
My first job since graduating X-ray school was Tomball Regional Hospital where I was employed for 5 years. In 2002, I filled in a few times at a UTMB clinic every other Tuesday. I then was offered a more permanent second job about a year later at Dr. Blackwell's office. I stayed there for 2 years, but left to have more free time to myself. I am currently working for an Orthopaedic Surgeon full time until he retires sometime next year.

Now that's a funny story. For those who haven't heard it, hear it is: Vince and I began dating in 2002, but split up in September. I then ran into an old flame/crush, and shortly after, we were engaged. He turned out to be unstable, and unfortunately, not for me. Vince and I were back together and talked about marriage, but heart really wasn't in it at the time. I eventually said yes, we planned a wedding, and the day after my bridal portraits were done, I called it off. The facility would not refund our money, so my parents through a "Celebration of Life" party. If you had something to celebrate, you were invited!!! I went to Mardi Gras the following January, and something changed my mind there. Within a month, Vince and I were married with a ceremony at my grandparents house. No wedding dress, no tux, just us and family. By the end of June, I filed for divorce. October 27th, it was final. Day after Thanksgiving, we were back together for another shot at happily ever after. We lived together for a year and got our informal marriage license and set the date back to one year after our original wedding date.
Family
I won Houston's Best Country Singer in 2007 on February 16 at Sam Houston Race Park. That Monday was our one year anniversary. The next day, I found out I was pregnant. Cooper Charles Scardino is the most amazing thing I have ever done in my life. If I had known it was this awesome, I would have done this a long time ago!!! He was born October 17, 2007.
