Heather's Story

Life I've been moving constantly. I got married to a wonderful man shortly after graduation. He is in the Army. I worked several different retail jobs until I was about five months pregnant. My son is three now. Who says terrible two's stop at two! He is wonderful, keeps me on my toes! I am a stay at home mom for now. I plan on going back to school eventually, probably to study nutrition. For now I will focus on the children. We just had our second baby, a girl, in August. That's what happens when the government sends our husbands away to Iraq for a year! There is always a baby boom when they come back. Then of course I find out that we are moving yet again, for the eighth time in six years! Not only moving, but my husband was supposed to report on my due date! So after a little bit of dancing around, I gave birth and almost two weeks later we were driving from Washington to Georgia! Quite a trip with an almost three year old and a two week old. But I am grateful for every bit of this crazyness, since I am where I am, and my husband is not overseas. At least for now. As much as I hated going to school, I can say that ...Expand for more
I would not change most of it. Maybe just a little:) Mostly, I wish that I wouldn't have been so hard on myself. And I wouldn't care so much about what I thought others were thinking about me. There were several of you that I thank God for because you helped me make it through each day. Workplace I stuck to the retail world for the first few years after graduation. Then stopped working when I was five months pregnant with my first baby (and moved yet again). I have continued to stay at home with my son, he is going on three now, and we are expecting his little sister to arrive before mid-August. I have been fortunate to be able to be a stay at home mom for a while, but I do look forward to getting out there again! Military I am not a soldier, but as an Army wife, everything I do is affected by the decisions of others. It has been six years since graduation and I have moved eight times! I would love to stay in one place for a few years, but if moving means that my hubby won't get deployed again for a year, just tell me where I'm going. I will stay in one place when he retires. Which actually is not that far off.
