Heather's Story
I graduated from college July 19, 2008, with an Associates in Science for Photography. I was able to maintain a 3.95 GPA throughout my schooling.
I have spent years and years struggling with my sons rare disease - Wiskott Aldrich Syndrome and caring for him thru 2 bone marrow transplants. Because of this I have decided to specialize in medical photography. It's my way of giving back and hopefully helping other patients and their families to understand treatment and surgical procedures and to visually prepare them for what may be in store. My photography also helps in the training of medical staff and gives them visual materials to learn from, so...Expand for more
they can take the best care of their patients.
Additionally, I do a ton of volunteer work in the community; testimonial speaking for Florida Blood Services, Photography for Heart Gallery, Big Brother & Big Sisters, Rebuilding Together Tampa Bay, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society ect... After caring for my son for 11 years while he endures a life threatening disease and watching him receive 60+ blood and/or platelet transfusion and 2 bone marrow transplants; I feel like I have been blessed not only with his life, but with a voice to carry on a message. I am able to help many others by using the gift of photography to emotionally affect the masses.
