Heather's Story
Life
I still live in Nebraska and am a Juvenile Probation Officer. I am not married and don't have any kids. I am applying for grad school (finally) this fall for a double major in Criminal Justice and Political Science. Hopefully I can get through the work in under three years and then find work with an international agency dealing with crimes against children.
Workplace
I worked several jobs during college, three at one time. The main one was my last year of school. I worked...Expand for more
at a psychiatric group home in Iowa. Worked directly with teenage boys that all had some type of psychiatric illness and lived on the campu where I worked. It was the best training you could ask for to work with teens. I still miss some of my boys, there were a few special ones. It was after that when I started in Probation and have now been there for six plus years. I like my job and love the kids I work with, for the most part. It's a crazy, hectic, stressful job but it's great.
