Heather's Story
Life
I got married in June, 1998, and now have 2 sons, Patrick Kiernan Foley, who was born April 6, 2001 and Randon Kye Foley, who was born on December 7, 2005. They are the most beautiful and precious things in the world to me. My husband and I live halfway between Muleshoe and Earth; basically 8.5 miles from either town, out in the middle of nowhere, only we're on a major highway. I never thought I'd like living out here, but I really do! I miss my friends in Lubbock, Dallas/Fort Worth, and Houston, but we do try to see them from time to time!! :)
School
I attended Tech immediately after high school, which, for me, was a big mistake. I ended up skipping class and goofing off most of the time, on top of the fact that I had two part-time jobs that I really enjoyed! I was ignorant then, and didn't know I could DROP or WITHDRAW from class, so I ended up on scholastic suspension twice, and then just never went back. SINCE then, however, I have attended South Plains College - Reese AFB campus off and on, though not since the Winter Session of 1997. After meeting my husband that Fall, and knowing we were going to be getting married, I opted to not register for the Spring 1998 session. I have not been back to school since, but am currently in the process of re-enrolling and being admitted to Tech, where I have also had the wonderful chance to erase my former Tech transcript, since they now have a provision for students who did the sort of thing I did the FIRST time! ...Expand for more
Basically, if it's been over 10 years, you are allowed to erase your transcript. I just requested that my Tech transcript be "forgiven". It will still show that I was enrolled prior to the Fall of 89, when some of the admissions criteria changed, but no grade records will fall into play, which is GREAT news for me. I have 27 hours from SPC that should transfer for credit, but have to have 30 to be admitted into their Bachelors of General Studies program, which is ALL online. It shouldn't be a big deal, and hopefully I can take the additional 3 hours by correspondence, then get started in the program. It will be a dream FINALLY becoming reality for me when I graduate from Tech. :)

Workplace
Though I sometimes think about how much further ahead in my life I could have been if only I had studied and applied myself at Tech when I went directly out of high school, I wouldn't trade the past 15 years for anything. I've worked in many different fields, from the legal, medical, academic, temporary, city/state/federal government, insurance, and now in the securities industry. I absolutely love my job, and enjoy being able to wake up knowing I WANT to go to work each day. I also can see myself succeeding in this company, and I know that there are possibilities for me to do so. I am now furthering my education, and hope to complete my bachelor's degree within the next 4-5 years! In doing so, I know that I will go even farther in this company!!
