Heather's Story
Life
I went to Cerritos College for my "all-important AA degree" (English), then transferred to UC Santa Barbara for two years to get my BA in English. I entered CSULB in fall of 1972 to work on a teaching credential, working part-time at my uncle's accounting office. After a summer of cashiering in Frontierland, D'land, I began full-time at the accounting office in Oct '73. Been there ever since, in Long Beach. Teaching?? Forget-about-it!
I was married in June 1978 to Stephen Chambers, now retired from his job as an accountant in a medium-size corporation. Our son Jonathan, graduated from USC(class of '06), and our daughter Lauren, will graduate ...Expand for more
from Smith College in '08. We've become big USC fans. My dad still live in Lakewood. I managed to obtain my CPA license in August of 1993. We live in North Tustin (having been in Orange County since 1980). I still play flute occasionally (in church), and sing A LOT, both in church and with a female quartet "Avocation" (since '93) with my sister Melody (Mayfair Class of '77) and cousin Tracy (Long Beach Wilson class of '83). We have a great time together. Melody began working in our office (Halter & Associates in Long Beach) in 1999! I also dabble in music composition for the quartet, church choir and handbell choirs. Are we having fun yet? Yes.
