Heidi's Story

Life Well after graduating from El Camino in 1979, I stayed in the area for five years working and going to school part-time. In 1984 the travel bug hit and I sold all personal belongings and went to Germany. I stayed with a friend until I found a job and a place to live. I married there, had two children there, and in 1991 left my husband and came back home. I spend half of the seven years living in Heidelberg and the other half in West Berlin, and was on the Berlin Wall November 9, 1989. I traveled extensivly throughout Europe in the seven years I was there. Reality hit when I came home with two...Expand for more
small children and no college degree. I spent the next seven years as a single working student mom living in Rocklin. I graduated from and Sierra College, and then Sac State, and then received a teaching credential from Sac State, and have been teaching Physical Education in the San Juan District ever since. Two years ago I married an awesome man in my new beautiful home in Rocklin. Raising two teenage boys, ages 17 and 15, keeps me busy during the summer months!!! The only thing that makes my life less than perfect, is that I miss my father terribly. He passed away six years ago at the age of 60.
