Heidi's Story
Life
I have received my two year AA with a focus in social work degree. I have also attained my two year degree in accounting and a certificate in youth psych care and I graduated 07 CSU-Pueblo with my BS and and then take the next step and go for my masters and have that by 08 or 09, in forensic socology.
Raising my 17 yr old daughter, now 18, she graduated in 08, she starts college fall of 08; thus the reason for putting off grad school for me as i wanted to share her joy in her senior year, she is so excited and is looking at attending school a Local school CSU or PCC.
Son graduated in 07, he is 19 turning 20 in Oct, as well and started CSU_pueblo in the spring he wants to go for soc criminology.....hummm sounds fimilar; he is also loooking at going into the coast gaurd.
Both children who are interested in what makes people tick or tock for that matter.
Life is good, busy and enjoyable. Keeping life in perspective of how quickly it can change and remembering and cherrishing the little things is the key to happiness.
Living in Canon City, CO is very differant from everywhere else I have been (North Carolina, Georgia, California, florence, CO) very "small-town", ideals an living structure for great for raising children. which includes no metal detectors at the school....Expand for more
still looking for peace in my life, most of it has been like a storm that never ended.
I am also a published writer of poetry, check it out at poetry.com
I totally enjoyed the reunion from Centennial class of 86, 20th, it was very odd watching the tough guys from high school pushing their kids on the swings.
College
i remember going from 8am to 6 pm and working graveyards at Denny's. waking up not knowing what day it was or how i got home; school and work blended together most days.
but the return to college has been very much worth the wait.
I am loving it.
Workplace
Now working as an office manager for a commercial plumping and heating company until I am done with my degree at grad school.
I did alot of volunteering for CASA and other childrens organizations. While I have worked for Hp and LSI and Junior Achievement as a web designer and network manager I found something missing. It seems as though every gets got up in there lives and stressors and forgets about the children caught in the middle, and I have always taught to my children dont complain unless you are willing to help make the changes; so I went back to college full time.
Military
army wife, it was an experience. NC is grand would return anytime!
Would be great to enjoy the state now without the exhusband.
