Heidi's Story
Life
How do you start a bio? I guess I'll start where we left off, which for some of you, was high school graduation night. I went on to college at SFA and graduated in '88 with a BBA in Marketing. I moved to Arlington shortly after graduating and started my sales career. The big city life wasn't for me - my boyfriend at the time turned out to be a psycho, I didn't like my job and I missed my mom and dad. So I came back to East Texas and worked a couple of years in sales, got married, had a beautiful baby girl in '91, went back to college to get my teaching certification (which I have never used), and got a divorce in '93. Things were tough but as it turned out, so was I. Soon I was back on my feet and landed a job in advertising. Then I met a great guy and married him two years later. The next year we had a baby... My 2nd beautiful baby girl!
I'm still married to the same great guy, his name is Shon, we live in Hallsville, and my baby girls are now 15 and 10! The oldest, Bailee, just made varsity cheerleader for Hallsville (following in mom's footsteps!), and the youngest, Makenzie, is w...Expand for more
orking toward her green belt in Tae Kwon Do. I've been in advertising for 13 years now, and for the last 9 years, I have worked in television for Cox Media. I was recently honored by my company with the Innovator Award, as well as the Lifetime Achievement Award.
In our spare time we enjoy traveling. My husband and I just returned from a trip to New York City. We had a great time and the people of New York were so gracious. I've always heard that they're rude, but the only rude people we noticed were either driving a cab, a subway train, or a bus... but I guess if I had their job, I'd be in a bad mood too! If you haven't been to New York, you should go! We also enjoy camping in our 5th wheel, riding 4 wheelers, and just hanging out at the house with friends. We recently built a big shop and have had a few fun get-togethers there. I'll be turning 30 again this year and I stay really busy with a demanding career, two very active girls, and a husband who wishes I would cook regularly! But I'm never too busy to talk to an old friend! I'd love to hear from you. Until then, take care...
