Helen's Story

You have seen me many times on tv and in movies and never knew it. I have been a movie extra on and off since 1988. My first movie was Crimes of the Heart where I did my best acting behind a tree in the grave yard scene. I'm wearing a blue dress and straw hat. It was filmed on the streets of the town I had lived in for many years Southport, NC. I am now 8 miles away from Southport in Boiling Spring lakes. I use to live at 306 Bay St. right on the Cape Fear River. A helicopter flies over it in the beginning of the movie Summer Catch. Yes I'm in that to. Sitting in a lounge chair watching a Baseball game which the home team loses. I took care of a old lady in the 1990's in the house where they show the guys getting out of the car to go to at the beginning. I got that house on a list to be used in the movies when a location manager asked to use it a few years ago for a Disney movie called Spies starring Cloris Leachman in ww2 era. Yes I'm in that to when actors ran up a gang plank past me. My hair's white in that one. That ship is the USS North Carolina. It seems all the movies and tv shows I did are like home movies of where I have lived. I've played everything from a lawyer in Mattlock to a 100 year old lady who starts to disintergrate in a Twilight Zone episode starring Patrick Bergin of Sleeping with the Enemy fame. Yes I'm in that to at the carnival at ferris wheel behind him as he is dressed in black I walk behind him in purple jacket and blue...Expand for more
jean skirt. I had just got over throwing up a hour before on the ferris wheel. It was about 4 a.m. in the morning. You've seen me in Matlock several times, Dawson's Creek and One Tree Hill. My most notable was when I was rail thin in Week End at Bernies. I have some one elses voice dubbed in my mouth say ahh what's going on. I was on a yaght called Foreplay. I was in blue jumper with pink belt and sun glasses. It was 1988. I was in many out fits in many scenes in that one. Best time I ever had.I was in Leapard spots for all the partry scenes. I yawn in a church in John Ritters HOLY JOE movie, He really acted like a minister to us even when the camera stopped rolling. I was in a office scene were John Ritter runs out to see what Andy Griffith has done evilly in Gramps. Hair dark brown in that one. I had my pearls on in that one.I had been in the dirt that day pulling weeds from the garden. I must mention I was in Mupphets from Space where I gasp when Miss. Piggy does a karate move on Andi Mcdowell. Talk about having fun and meeting all the puppeteers and getting to work the puppets. The movie set was in a hanger 5 feet off the floor. It was very cold. I had a tight black dress on with gold vest. Also very big beige furry hat. I have sang solo's in Caberet as Frau Schnider(Lotti Lenya character actress part). to Appassinata Von Climax in Lil Abner. Well the senior center is closing in awhile so I hope I have brightened your day with reminesings.
