Helen's Story
After using my science and analytical side my whole life (first as a medical technologist for 10 years and then as a DB2 database administrator on mainframe computers), I retired (for the 3rd time in 2008). I now teach sewing, crochet, card making and Copic marker classes in several different stores around Evansville, Indiana. I really enjoy doing creative things and I like the variety. The best is being able to teach when and if I want.
My husband, Bill (Ole) Johnson, (class of 1964) and I have 3 children and 3 grandchildren. The grandchildren are all very br...Expand for more
ight (isn't everyone's grandchild). Our children are in Chicago, Indianapolis and Memphis. Thus the reason we moved to Evansville, IN, from our home of 29 years in Wichita, KS. This was much closer to all three kids without being in anyone's back yard.
Bill cycles a lot (5000 to 6000 miles a year). We have enjoyed a number a trips, many of which were week long trips where Bill biked 60 to 100 miles in a day while I was sightseeing and we would meet at the end of the day. We are looking forward to doing some more traveling this year (with or without the bike).
