Helen's Story
Hi. What have I been doing? I have been a social worker for over 20 years. I started in employment social work and transferred into child protection. I conducted thousands of investigations into child abuse allegations. I have had ordinary sad cases, tragic cases, and frightening experiences. There are no simple stories or people. I hopefully have been truthful, kind, and helped people.

they see after law enforcement has taken custody of them. My job is to address protection issues, and then comfort and stabilize the kids to some degree.
I also mentor kids, and social service staff. I feel really blessed to have been of service. Each day is a new chance to help a kid.
I am still doing my creative work. I create jewelry, sculpt, and do home renovations. I have more tools than my parents ever dreamed of owning. I also know how to use them properly!
Anyway, I am happy with what I have and do today. I am grateful.
