Helen's Story
Life
After graduating from Fresno Adventist Academy in 1970 I attended Pacific Union College for 2 years then went as a student missionery to Korea. There I met Gary Nichols and married him in 1973 after becoming pregnant.
We moved to Massachusetts a month later and I gave birth to my first child, Jennifer on November 21. By 1980 I had given birth to an additional 3 sons, Ken, Ben, and Don.
In 1990 Gary was transfered to California and we have lived in the San Jose area ever since.
I got a job at Stanford University and have worked in various positions here since then as well, now working as an executive assistant for the Vice Provost for Student Affairs. In 1995 my first grandchild, Daphne, was born to my daughter. She is a very beautiful and special child to me and we are very close. Unfortunately, her parents have already divorced.
In 1999 I left my husband and am still working on getting the divorce finalized.
In 2000 my second grandchild was born to my oldest son. The little girl, Jada is now 18 months old and is such a sweet little girl. She and Daphne often spend the night at my house and they love each other dearly. The only time they get to see each other is when I bring them to my house.
Also in 2000, my second son, Ben married a woman who had son from a previous marriage. Christian who is 5 1/2 now is a very sweet boy and calls me grandma and loves me as much as the other two. He is a very active child but has a heart of gold.
