Helen's Story

I responded to some of the questions given in case they seem out of order: My Life: I have a daughter living in the great San Antonio area with her husband and family. Her husband is in the AF military. She is with Health services, a company that networks throughout the country, providing information to businesses regarding insurance details. She is one of the administrators. I have one son who recently fulfilled his term with the Marines and lives in Roswell with his wife and family, (hoping to leave Roswell soon). He currently works for an oil company. Together, I have 5 grandchildren, the oldest being 16 years old...all boys. My only grandaughter died the day she was born (prematurely). I am still teaching at a middle school. Hope to hear from old acquaintances and friends! I'm an teacher. I've been in the classroom and also worked a district level position. My parents are my heros. They set many examples they have learned in life. My mother taught me the value of prayer. Prayer works! My father taught me to be happy, "anyway", in spite of any problems in life..."might as well!..." He had a great attitude towards living, down to his last days! He never complained, even in suffering (health-wise) and always thought of his family's needs before himself. He was a smiler. My best friend would tell you I'm deep and serious or reserved, down to earth, real, an...Expand for more
d love simple things in life, yet, am complex. I enjoy being around all types of people, especially those who make me laugh. I like people to be real, without the need to impress. Some say I usually look too dressed-up. It's probably due to work. I usually smile a lot. I also appreciate seeing my friends each time we meet. I have an "I like everyone" demeanor that is real from my heart. I usually don't "follow the crowd" because I don't like feeling boxed-in, but find life more enjoyable crossing lines and listening to learn. My victory to achieve regarding my career is to make a difference for many of my students...can't win them all but I will try. Less than 10 years, I hope to be retired and explore more opportunities in life. I'm going to get there by working for a few more years. I hope to continue with great health! I always wanted to be a teacher as I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a good idea. As it turned out, they were right. The great way to relax is to deal head-on with situations and not run from them. I like things to be resolved ASAP but as gracefully as possible. A good clean conscience is the best way to relax! I think our society needs more forgiving people and grace to build others up for encouragement. Hey, life can be hard. When the weakest links are strengthened in society, then we all prosper. God bless, Helen :)
