Henry's Story
After high school I attended USC where I studied Civil Engineering and also studied Land Surveying at Midlands Tech. After graduation I moved back to Summerton and worked with DuValle Elliott for two years as a surveyor. In September of 1982 I moved to Columbia after taking a job with BP Barber and Associates, Consulting Engineers. I married Susan Culler from Aiken SC in 1983 and we have two children, Kelly, our daughter in 1985 and our son Evan in 1987. to his wife Jodi. They met at Furman University and are in their second year of Residency at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville. I became one of 12 partners in our firm in 2005, which we sold to URS Corporation in April of 2011. This was a big change as we went from 235 employees in 6 offices in 3 states to employees of a 55,000 man firm in 52 countries. And just this week we were sold again to AECOM and we are now the second largest Engineering and Construction firm in the world at 105,000 employees in 156 countries. Big changes. Susan retired in 2011 and loves it. We live in Lexington SC.
