Henry's Story
Those of you who attended the 50th reunion know that the shy, reserved kid is dead and a loud mouthed self-centered brat has been resurrected in his place. Since graduating from TCU in 1963 I've been all over the country and several foreign locales. Carol and I spent over 27 years (1977-2005) in the Ft. Lauderdale, FL area where I wiorked for Amreican Express and then the Florida Panthers
South Florida was getting too crowded so we opted for the slower pace of Augusta, GA (still not stupid enough to go back to the frozen northern winters). do not come to Augusta and I don't want to make the two hour drive to Atlanta all that often. Cher, Brittany spears, Madonna, Nsync, Elton John, Jimmy Buffet, etc. will just be fond memories.
Of course life in Augusta doesn't mean that I get to vegatate. People here quickly spotted my talents. After getting setled in I took a turn at writing for one of the local newspapers. The Metro changed hands a couple of years ago and I parted company withh the new management. Since then I have taken a bi-weekly spot on the local CBS TV affiliate, do a bi-weekly taping for Comcast OnDemand and most recently have agreed to do a weekly news commentary on the local NPR outlet.
Ego? What ego? I'm great and I know it.
