Herbert's Story
Life
Everyone in Owensville knows me as Buster. Although I dropped that knickname in the Army (I don't mind being called Buster) I am now called Herb.
After graduation I worked for Wilbert Vault Works for a year and then entered the Army. I remained in the Army for 30 years, retiring as a Lt Col. I have an MBA degree from Seattle University and worked as Finance Director for several small businesses after retirement from the Army. I am, of course, completely retired.

rried a wonderful Japanese girl to whom I remained married for 57 years. We had two children (by adoption) and traveled all over the world. Sue passed away in 2004.
Our oldest son, Gene, was killed in action in Viet Nam in 1967 and was buried here (I had several tours of duty in the Pacific Northwest and we had established our home here. I visit family in Evansville occasionally).
