Herminia's Story
Life
First off, most of y'all will be unfamiliar with the name Herminia. In Wilmington and San Pedro, y'all probably knew me as Debbie. In Los Al, y'all knew me as Deeber.
I originally came from Wilmington, California. Lived there until my parents separated. After their divorce, I bounced between living with one parent then the other and ultimately settled on living with my mother in San Pedro.
Although I was enjoying my new life in San Pedro, my mother remarried in '87 and I was moved to Los Alamitos to live with my mother and her new husband. We made a small move to Cypress at the beginning of 9th grade. That was where we lived throughout high school.
After graduating from Los Al, I spent many years at Cypress College. Much of my time there was...Expand for more
spent being a member of Vocal Eclypse and Masterworks Chorale. School was taking a long time and I just didn't have what it took to stick with it, so I moved on and just worked. I worked a few lousy jobs (i.e. Super Slaver!) and then found my way to the IEEE Computer Society. I temped for them for a LONG time and eventually landed a position as a Production Editor.
Recent news -
I was married in October 2005 to my boyfriend of 10 years. In March 2005, we celebrated the birth of our first child. I was only a stay-at-home momma, but recently (April 2006) started doing contract work for my old company. It's the best of both worlds for me. I get to do the work I was enjoying before Ethan was born AND I get to be home with the little dude! It's perfect!
