Holly's Story

I really don't have much to tell. Nothing interesting to most people. I am currently unemployed. I used to do daycare. I did that for 10 yrs. I worked at a linen supply company for awhile. Now I watch my grandchildren while their parents work. For 10 yrs I was owned by seven beautiful sweet ferrets. They were my pride and joy. They brought me so much joy and happiness. Ferrets aren't for everyone though. They get all sorts of ailments that are unique to them. Vet care is very expensive. I spent $5,000 on one who had some very complicated health issues. She was my baby. What else could I do. It was money well spent. Over the course of 10 yrs I spent a total of $12,000 on them. Not bad considering all the health problems that come with ferrets. Especially as they age. Their life span is about 8 yrs. With most living 6 to 8 yrs. Not a long life but they pack 20 yrs of living into that time. Precious sweet angels. I miss them. Maybe one day we will get more. When I can afford them! We currently have 3 cats. I love dogs too but as long as they are someone elses. We used to have 6 rats. Wonderful little pets. Right now I am busy with 3 grandsons. Landon (2005), Connor (2006) and Carter (2009). One day I hope to have a granddaughter. I have kept in touch with Jeannette Almasy (now Baugher) (class of 79 also). We meet for dinner every few months or so. It gives us time to catch up on what is going on in our lives. We keep in touch by email also. I have been in touch with Donna Lowman (now Bracy) through classmates. Jeannette and I went to her home to ...Expand for more
visit with her about 5 yrs ago. We had a great time. We are aiming to do it again this fall. I see others from school while out and about in the Glen Burnie area. Not ones I was personally friends with but recognized them from school. I have spoken with Renee Ginn. She works for my daughters doctor. We weren't friends in school but it is nice to see people from school. Don't you all just wish we could go back in time for one week and relive the school experience just one more time? I know I do. Those were some fun days. The only worries we had were what to wear to school and what to buy for lunch. Of course there was homework too. I haven't done any traveling. I won't fly. My vacations are always in Ocean City. Why not? It is close and it is a fun place to go. One day I will get the courage up to fly in a plane and visit a good friend of mine that I met on the net. She lives in CA. We have been friends for 7 yrs now. We talk on the phone often. I met her on a lupus board. I was dx'd with lupus (SLE) back in 2002 and dx'd with Rhuematoid arthritis (RA) a few years later. I am fortunate enough to not have had any life threatening problems from either disease. I also have asthma pretty bad and that does give me trouble. Thank God for the meds they have these days. I can't think of much else to say about what I have been doing all these years. Busy with life just like everyone else. I am sure most don't give a hoot about what I have been up to. Just figured I would sit here and type a bit about my life for anyone who is bored and wants to read it.
