Holly's Story
Life
I've lived in Chicago for the past 12+ years now and love living here. Let's see, married, no kids, 2 dogs and I live in Wicker Park (Chicago neighborhood, not a suburb). Speaking of marriage, just got married in 2004--we decided not to spend the equivalent of a down payment on a house and high-tailed it to Maui. Can't say enough about getting married in Maui--sunsets, cocktails, and the ocean.
Currently I work in HR (human resources)--I say currently only because if I had my druthers, I'd have my own winery in California or Washington.
I had mentioned my two dogs earlier, they're Sadie (a basenji) and Finnegan (a shiba inu). My neighborhood is overrun by either the baby brigade (people in double wide strollers taking up the entire sidewalk) or the Yuppies who think their dogs are their kids. in complete denial that I'm a Yuppie. That said, my dogs are cute and no, they DO NOT fit in a handbag. Dogs are not fashion accessories. Most of the time anyway.
Well, if I talk about my dogs, I should at least talk about my husband! He's Jay, we've known each other for about 5 years. Met him at a bar, it was one of those evenings where I didn't want to even talk to the male persuasion, but his friend was talking to mine and that left us groping in the dark, looking for something to talk about. To my surprise, we were still yapping at each other when they yelled out last call. I could get all mushy here, but I won't--I'm not into the whole soul mate thing, but he's good for me. Grounded, where I'm flighty (somethings never change, huh?) and all that ying yang stuff.
I think I've blathered on enough here. Hopefully this will fill some of you in on my life so far. I'm totally enjoying it!
