Holly's Story
Life
I'm now a Technology Teacher-Leader at a Philadelphia K-5 school. I was recently widowed in September, 2002. My husband drowned while at work on a barge in the Schuykill River. I was married for 9 years, and have a 7 year old son, and a 4 year old son. I live in South Philadelphia. Because of the way my husband died, I have become active as a workplace safety advocate, and am involved with the group PhilaPOSH. I recently testified in front of a Congressional committee concerned with OSHA's fines and lack of ability to fine higher amounts, as well as prosecute, for violations.

I went to Mount Union College, Alliance, Ohio, graduating in 1984 with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. While at Mount, I pledged Alpha Chi Omega, and was a Phi Kappa Tau and a Sigma Nu Little Sister. I received a Master's Degree in Technology in Education from Rosemont College in 1997.
