Hope's Story
Life
For anyone who remembers me and is interested, I've had a wonderful life, with a few bumps and scrapes along the way. I was born in Glen Allen, Miss. in August, l941. I attended Glen Allen School from 1947 thru l954. I still think of it as my school all the way through, even though I didn't graduate from there. I can't remember a lot of classmate names, but I know they will come back as soon as I see them. My mother, Ella Sigler and my father, Erval Hatcher, were divorced in l946. I lived with my mom and stepfather, Tanner Abney, in Memphis, TN. where I graduated from Humes High school in l960.
I met Buford Elliott in l959. He was in the Navy stationed at Millingto...Expand for more
n, TN. We were married in l960. We were blessed with 3 wonderful sons. After the service time ended we lived in Moline, Ill. and then we moved to Baton Rouge, LA. Buford was killed in an automobile accident in l971 at the age of 3l. In l988, I married Gilbert R Vincent and we're still kicking. My middle son, Todd Elliott, was killed in an auto accident in l990. My other 2 sons, Buford T and Randell T Elliott, both reside in Denham Springs, LA. I have 2 grandsons, Corey and Cole Elliott and 1 step-grandson, Shane Hebert and 1 great grandson, Shane Hebert, JR. Both my sons have really nice wives and families and seem to be doing well.
